Many people think that Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on May 5 (
cinco de mayo), but that's not true! Mexican Independence will be celebrated this weekend, September 15 & 16. On Monday the students will learn more about how Mexico declared and then won its independence from Spain and what other countries were inspired to declare their independence as a result of Mexico's declaration.
